✓ You must be 21 years of age or older.
✓ Dog adoption fee: $200 · Cat adoption fee: $100. Fees cover up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm treatment if needed (dogs), deworming, combo testing (cats), and a microchip registered to you. Donations above the fee are gratefully accepted.
✓ A securely fenced yard is required for most dogs. If your yard is not fenced, please describe your property in the application.
✓ Dogs must be in indoor only homes. NO EXCEPTIONS. Chains, runners, outdoor-only arrangements, and outdoor kennels are not permitted.
✓ A background check may be conducted, including a home check, veterinarian check, and personal references.
✓ All current animals in your household must be spayed/neutered, on monthly heartworm prevention, and up to date on all vaccinations.
✓ You must uphold state laws regarding animal care.
✓ If you rent, a letter from your landlord showing pet approval may be required.
✓ Cats will not be declawed. Indoor homes only. Indoor/outdoor considered case by case.
✓ You must sign and abide by our adoption contract.
✓ Transport can be arranged anywhere in the U.S.
Questions to ask yourself before you adopt
Are you willing to make a lifetime commitment?
Dogs and cats can live 12–18 years. Adopting means committing to their care, love, and wellbeing for their entire life — through moves, life changes, and everything in between.
Are you financially prepared for pet ownership?
Beyond the adoption fee, ongoing costs include food, routine vet care, heartworm prevention, grooming, and unexpected medical expenses. Make sure you're ready for those responsibilities.
Does everyone in your household agree?
All adults in the home should be on board. If anyone has allergies or concerns, work those out before applying — for your sake and the animal's.
Do you have the time and space?
Dogs especially need daily exercise, training, and companionship. Make sure your lifestyle and living situation are a good fit for the animal you're interested in.
